On the afternoon of April 30th, the 2014 Asian Futsal Championship kicked off with the first match in Group A at the Phu Tho Gymnasium. True to their reputation as a contender for first place in the group, the Kuwait team secured an easy 5-0 victory against the Tajikistan team.

With superior tactics, the Kuwait national team took the initiative right from the opening whistle. Less than three minutes into the match, Fonseca's players breached the Tajikistan defense. The goal came from a well-executed attack, with Hamad easily scoring with a close-range tap-in.
Admittedly, the Tajikistan team played very hard against their stronger opponent. Shodiev's players also created significant scoring opportunities against Kuwait, but the Tajikistan strikers were rather unlucky in their finishing, causing those chances to slip away.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait national team showed great effectiveness in their attacking plays. With relatively simple but fast-paced attacks, Fonseca's players scored four more goals against Tajikistan to secure all three points on their opening day. The remaining goals for Kuwait were scored by Abdul (12') and Hamad added two more goals (22', 39', 40').
At 7:00 PM on April 30th, the Vietnamese national team will play their first match in Group A against the Iraqi national team at the Phu Tho Gymnasium.
