(Baonghean.vn) - Co Phat village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong - Nghe An) is located in the upper reaches of the Giang River, bordering the Vietnam - Laos border. This is known as the residential area of the Dan Lai ethnic group, the smallest community in the country. Previously, to get to Co Phat, one had to take a boat up the Giang River, but now a road has been built to replace the only waterway.
Co Phat village is about 20 km from the center of Mon Son commune. Previously, it took up to 3 hours to travel by river, but now it takes less than half of the above time to travel by road to reach Co Phat village. The road traffic route has greatly contributed to bridging the gap between the ethnic group once known as "sitting sleepers" in the core area of Pu Mat National Park and civilized life. Motorbikes and small trucks can now enter the village. Although still under construction, since the road was formed, motorbikes have become the main means of transportation for the people of Co Phat village. However, according to the Party Secretary of Co Phat village, La Van Linh, 407 people from 107 households here have not yet escaped the natural foraging life.
