"On average, each fishing boat arriving at Lach Quen port brings 5-6 tons of seafood, many boats bring back over 10 tons of seafood per trip. The boats notify the port management board 1 hour before docking, so the declaration and monitoring of each type of seafood according to the 2017 Fisheries Law is convenient," said Mr. Chu Van Tan.

Mr. Phan Van Hai - Chairman of the Fisheries Association of Quynh Lap Commune (Hoang Mai Town) said: This time fishermen come back for a full moon holiday, at the same time it is the Independence Day holiday on September 2nd, the full moon of July, most of the boats have a big catch of seafood, mostly anchovies. There are boats that bring back nearly 25 tons of anchovies/trip.

"The fishing industry is often in a good season, but prices drop. This time is the same, when the fishing boats catch a lot of fish, the price drops to 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg. After the 7th lunar month break, fishermen continue to go out to sea to fish during the full moon night" - Mr. Phan Van Hai said.

At this time, in addition to high output, fishermen also catch many valuable fish: mackerel, mullet, needlefish, squid... In particular, squid is priced well, so consumption is higher than usual. For mackerel, it is sold at 140,000 VND/kg, mullet is 70,000 VND/kg, squid is from 120,000 - 180,000 VND/kg.
