Paulina is the daughter of cardiologist Rodolfo Vega Llamas and his wife Laura Dieppa. She is the granddaughter of Colombian singer Gaston Vega. Her grandmother -Elvira Castillo - crowned Miss Atlantico of Colombia in 1953.
