VFF will sign a contract with coach Hoang Van Phuc on May 16.

The Vietnam Football Federation has officially set the date to sign a contract with coach Hoang Van Phuc as head coach of the Vietnam National Team and U23 National Team.

Accordingly, the signing ceremony will officially take place at 10:00 on May 16 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation. The contract will last for 2 years. This also means that Coach Hoang Van Phuc will lead the National U23 and the Vietnam National Team in 2 important tournaments: SEA Games 27 and AFF Cup 2014.

Before officially becoming the head coach of the Vietnam National Team and U23, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc was the coach of Hanoi, who are playing in the First Division. However, to fully devote himself to his work in the colors of the 2 National Teams, Coach Hoang Van Phuc left Hanoi and gave up his position to Coach Trieu Quang Ha.

Although he has not officially become the national team coach, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc has been very active in going to the stadiums to watch matches in the V-League as well as the First Division to select personnel for the national team in the upcoming training session.

The friendly match between the U23 Vietnam team and Kashima Antlers Club (Japan) on June 4th is the first match in the official role of head coach Hoang Van Phuc. Previously, Mr. Phuc also led the Vietnam team in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers but only in a temporary capacity.
