Vi Kham Mun continues to receive awards from the Vietnam Folk Arts Association
(Baognhean.vn) -In the first days of the new year 2013, retired teacher Vi Kham Mun in Xieng Lip village, Yen Hoa commune (Tuong Duong) just received the B prize from the Vietnam Folk Arts Association for his collection ofIdioms and proverbs of the Thai Muong people in Tuong Duong - Nghe An.
The award-winning work includes more than 1,300 oral idioms and proverbs of the Thai people of the Tay Muong group (Hang Tong) in Tuong Duong district, which were recalled, collected and written into a book by local intellectual Vi Kham Mun. This is one of the rare books on the folk culture of the Thai people in the mountainous districts along National Highway 7A Nghe An.
In addition to his work on proverbs and idioms, Vi Kham Mun is urgently completing the manuscript of his work on folk tales of the Thai people in Tuong Duong (3 volumes), which will be published in 2013.
It is known that previously in 2010 and 2011, this 70-year-old man also received awards for his works collecting literature of the Thai people in Nghe An.
