Computer viruses can... spread via Wi-Fi networks
British scientists have just proven that it is possible to use Wi-fi viruses to "spread" wireless networks in the same way that influenza spreads through the air in humans.

Experts from the University of Liverpool (UK) have designed and simulated a computer virus attack they call Chameleon.
The results showed that it not only spread quickly but was able to avoid detection even on password-protected Wi-Fi networks.
Chameleon behaves like an airborne virus, entering wireless networks through access points connected to homes or businesses.
“When Chameleon attacks an access point, it does not affect data transmission, but collects and reports everything that users connect to Wi-Fi,” The Register quoted professor Alan Marshall.
In densely populated areas with many access points close together, the virus spreads even faster.
