Why do young people today not like to go out?
Research by the National Citizen Service charity shows that young people today are increasingly preferring to stay at home rather than participate in outdoor activities.
According to Daily Mail, the report shows that, in 1,000 young people participating in the survey, up to 25% of people shared that they are very afraid of being exposed to changes and new things in life. 33% of young people admitted that most of their adventures are experienced in video games and they are not interested in the outside world.
Instead of going out, making friends, and learning new things, young people choose to stay home, make friends with computers, surf the phone, iPad, and play video games.
Notably, when asked about their most memorable experience of the past year, 27% of young people said it was the time they played a newly released video game. 12% of them shared the time they watched a new movie on Netflix and 8% said it was when they discovered the new Faceswap app.

The study also surveyed 2,000 adults. These people said that between the ages of 15 and 20, they enjoyed doing the most adventurous and challenging things. They said that traveling for the first time without their parents was a great experience.
66% of them also said that today's youth are too sheltered. Therefore, they have less opportunity to participate in interesting things in life.
41% of parents do not want their children to have to hitchhike with friends. 25% do not want their children to travel without their parents.
The report also shows that busy lives mean that many parents do not have much time to spend with their children. Many families use phones and iPads as babysitters, leaving their children to play alone and have time to do other things. This creates a habit for children and unintentionally robs them of the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities.

Dr. Aaron Balick - British psychologist, author of The Psychodynamics of Social Networking - commented that: "Social networks are a virtual world that is not suitable for children. To improve life skills and experiences, you need to participate in real activities.
This is not only an environment that helps you approach new and interesting things, but also a place to help you express yourself, give you the opportunity to compete, learn necessary skills.
This experience not only creates beautiful memories for each person but also helps us to grow and become more confident in life."
