Why were Van Duc and Xuan Manh not allowed to attend the Vietnam Olympic Honor Ceremony?
At the Honor Ceremony of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at My Dinh Stadium on the evening of September 2, all members of the Vietnam Olympic Team were present, except for these two players.
On September 2, the Vietnam Olympic Team and the Vietnamese Sports Delegation returned to Hanoi to the anticipation of many home fans.
After landing at Noi Bai airport, the SLNA couple Phan Van Duc and Pham Xuan Manh quickly left for Nghe An. Both of them could not attend the celebration ceremony with the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at My Dinh this evening, September 2. The reason is that these two players had to return to prepare for the second leg of the National Cup semi-final between SLNA and FLC Thanh Hoa 3 days later.
Both Phan Van Duc and Pham Xuan Manh are important players in the SLNA squad. After a hard time in the V-League, these two U23 players had to finish the first leg of the National Cup semi-finals before joining the Vietnam Olympic team.
After gathering, these players had to continuously practice and participate in friendly matches as well as official matches within the framework of ASIAD 2018.
Also participating in the National Cup semi-finals, Xuan Manh and Van Duc's teammates at Hanoi FC and Binh Duong have more favorable schedules. The remaining semi-final match has been postponed until October 3 to ensure the health of the players.
