SLNA goalkeeper position: Van Hoang or Van Hung?
(Baonghean.vn) – In the registration list of SLNA in phase II of V.League 2020, the Nghe An team registered 4 goalkeepers. Of which, goalkeeper Van Hoang and Van Hung are the two most serious candidates for the starting position.
Accordingly, the Nghe An team has 4 goalkeepers for the rest of the season: Nguyen Van Hoang (1995), Le Van Hung (1992), Tran Van Tien (1994) and Duong Van Cuong (1999).
GoalkeeperVan Hoangjoined SLNA from Saigon FC and was selected to start the last 11 matches in V.League 2020. In the first 5 matches, Van Hoang and the SLNA defense kept a clean sheet. However, in the last 6 matches, coach Quang Truong's team conceded 13 goals (an average of 2.1 goals/match).

Of those 13 goals conceded, 6 came from indirect free kicks and 4 came from corner kicks. Van Hoang's strength is his miraculous reflex saves (11 times). This shows that the 1995-born goalkeeper's ability to command the defense and enter and exit the field is still not perfect.
However, with the advantage of height up to 1m86 and a fairly good performance in SLNA shirt, goalkeeper Van Hoang was still called up to the Vietnam national team by coach Park Hang-seo in the most recent training list.
Recently, the goalkeeperLe Van Hunghas recovered from injury after more than 2 years of rest. With a height of 1m80, good reflexes, the ability to launch attacks and a relatively stable mentality, Van Hung will certainly make SLNA's coaching board consider.

In recent training sessions, Van Hoang and Van Hung have both shown quite good form and this helps SLNA feel secure about the goalkeeper position in the near future. Both of SLNA's top goalkeepers have their own strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities are still evenly divided.
The most noteworthy thing about SLNA's defense right now is the performance of players who have just returned from injury, such as central defenders Hoang Van Khanh, Tran Dinh Dong and Pham Xuan Manh.
