Thanks to that, Nghe An Telecommunications has made great contributions to protecting network safety and information security in postal, telecommunications and internet activities of the whole province as well as telecommunications nationwide.
As soon as Directive 31/2006/CT-UBND was issued, the leaders of Nghe An Telecommunications issued official dispatches and documents to guide and organize the implementation of the directive to all employees, instructing affiliated units to organize training and sign commitments to protect network safety and information security, Official Dispatch No. 687/CV-VTNA-MDV on the deployment of software to manage Internet agents... Coordinate with the Public Security sector to advise on the establishment of a Steering Committee to ensure network safety and security in each locality; Install a system to monitor and warn of loss of communication at BTS stations; Organize groups and teams to patrol and protect cable networks to promptly detect and prevent cable theft; Build a model of self-managed stations and stations to ensure network safety and security.

The unit has also organized training courses for affiliated units and telecommunications agents on regulations and procedures for providing internet services as well as ensuring network safety and information security. Propaganda for cadres, employees and affiliated units to always raise their sense of responsibility, promptly detect and prevent acts of exploiting the telecommunications network to transport and disseminate harmful documents and cultural products in the province. Nghe An Telecommunications has also actively coordinated with the provincial police to detect and strictly handle acts of violating the telecommunications network and ensure information security. From 2008 to September 2011, the unit coordinated with local police to detect and arrest 82/275 cases of network insecurity, discovered nearly 29,000 km of stolen cables with a total loss of nearly 1.5 billion VND. In the first 9 months of 2011 alone, 70 cases occurred, 35 cases were verified and investigated, 39 subjects were arrested and handled.
With the province having a large population, large area, and complex terrain, ensuring network safety and information security of Nghe An Telecommunications faces many difficulties, especially in the new situation when telecommunications crimes with increasingly diverse and sophisticated behaviors.
