Vietnam, Cambodia cooperate to combat money laundering and terrorist financing
On the morning of March 28, in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Binh and Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia Chea Chanto signed a Memorandum of Understanding on information exchange to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. This Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the spirit of close cooperation and mutual benefit within the framework of each country's national laws, aiming to contribute to the international community's fight against money laundering and terrorist financing in the region as well as in the world.

Cooperation between the two sides will contribute to finding, preventing and eliminating money laundering and terrorist financing activities, while creating conditions for financial investigation agencies of the two countries to learn from each other's experiences.
After the signing ceremony, the governors of the two countries' banks also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in training, research and education in the fields of finance and banking between the leaders of the Banking Academy (Vietnam) and the Banking Research Center (Cambodia).
According to the program of activities in Cambodia from March 27 to 30, Governor Nguyen Van Binh will attend the ASEAN Central Bank Governors Meeting (ACGM); receive the Governor of the Bank of Singapore; visit branches of Agribank Vietnam, Military Bank, SHB Bank, Sacombank; meet with the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar; attend the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnam - Cambodia Rice Milling Export Factory and lay wreaths at the Monument to Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers in Cambodia.
