Vietnam - Cambodia signed an agreement on cooperation on education

On the afternoon of August 28, in Hanoi, Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training - Pham Vu Luan and Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports - Im Sethy signed an agreement on the Cooperation Plan on education and human resource training.
The cooperation plan between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports includes many contents such as: cooperation in human resource training, exchange of working delegations, Cambodian students studying in Vietnam and other cooperation activities.
Regarding human resource training, in 2012, Vietnam will receive 120 Cambodian students to study at university, graduate school, for internships, research and short-term training in the fields of science and technology, and Vietnamese language preparation for university entrance.
Cambodia will receive 15 Vietnamese students to study full-time at Cambodian universities in 2012. In addition, Cambodia will receive 20 Vietnamese officials to study Khmer for 2 years. In addition to the scholarship program, the two countries will organize the exchange of working delegations including high-level delegations and delegations of officials to exchange and cooperate, and check the study situation of students from both countries...
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Im Sethy acknowledged the effective support of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training in recent times. Minister Im Sethy said that there are currently more than 900 Cambodian students studying in Vietnam; the number of students who have returned home is more than 1,600 people and many of them are holding important positions in Cambodia.
Minister Im Sethy hopes that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of education will become increasingly close and develop further, especially in the field of technical education.
Minister Pham Vu Luan affirmed the determination of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to strengthen cooperation more broadly and deeply with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Previously, the two Ministers had a working session, discussing the educational cooperation situation between the two countries in recent times and proposed measures to further strengthen the relationship between the two Ministries, especially in training and developing human resources of the two countries.
