Three shooters Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Hoang Phuong and Tran Quoc Cuong won bronze medals in the men's 50 meter slow-fire pistol team event.

Hoang Xuan Vinh and his teammates missed the silver medal at the 17th ASIAD in the final round of shooting.

Before entering the final round, Vietnam was in second place, with a great chance to win the silver medal. But in the last round, Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong did not shoot well, both only getting 6 points, thus allowing the host Korea to overtake them.

In the individual competition, Hoang Xuan Vinh finished second in the qualifying round, qualifying for the final. His teammate Nguyen Hoang Phuong also qualified for the final round, finishing eighth with 557 points.

It will be difficult for Hoang Xuan Vinh - the number one hope of Vietnamese shooting - to win a gold medal because this event has the participation of world shooting icon Jin Jongoh.

At the 2014 World Championships in Spain, the Korean shooter won both the 50m pistol and 10m air pistol events. In addition, Jin Jongoh also holds the world record in both the 10m air pistol (594 points, set in 2009) and the 50m air pistol (583 points, set in 2014).

In the women's 10-meter pistol team event, Vietnam ranked eighth.

In the wushu long boxing category, Tran Xuan Hiep ranked fourth with 9.57 points.
