The draw table before the group stage draw of AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Le Hoai Anh said that the results of the pairing of opponents in the Southeast Asian region are as shown in the photo above, and the Organizing Committee in the draw ceremony will randomly select 2 teams in the same pair to enter groups A or B respectively.
Thus, Vietnam national team will most likely be the host team in the group of death if the draw scenario puts Malaysia, Thailand, and the first team of the qualifying round (most likely Myanmar) in the same group.
At this tournament, with the goal of rejuvenation, the Vietnamese national team under the guidance of Japanese coach Toshiya Miura will use most of the players at the age of playing in the SEA Games to help them gain experience and be ready to conquer further goals at the 2015 SEA Games held in Singapore.
