Vietnam has 1.1 million more doses of AstraZeneca, bringing the total to over 20 million doses of vaccine.
This morning, a batch of more than 1.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the total number of vaccines available nationwide to over 20.5 million doses.
The batch of vaccines landed at Tan Son Nhat airport at nearly 10am this morning. This is the 8th batch of vaccines ordered by Vietnam through VNVC Company in the contract to supply 30 million doses of AstraZeneca.
So far, Vietnam has received more than 20.5 million doses.VaccineCovid-19 vaccines are provided from many sources, including Covax supporting nearly 9.2 million doses, Vietnam ordering more than 5 million doses through VNVC, donated vaccines of more than 3.7 million doses; 1 million doses ordered by Sinopharm and more than 1.2 million doses of Pfizer.

The Ministry of Health said that in August and September, about 12 million more doses of vaccine will be imported to Vietnam from various sources. Especially in the fourth quarter, the amount of vaccines will be rushed in, of which, about 47 million doses of Pfizer vaccine alone.
With the signed import agreements, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested to focus on encouraging partners to deliver vaccines as soon as possible, limiting the late arrival of vaccines and the rush leading to overdue vaccines.
According to the national Covid-19 vaccination information portal, as of the morning of August 13, Vietnam has administered over 13.3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, of which about 1.1 million people have received two doses. Thus, the coverage rate of the first dose of the vaccine is about 12.6%.
