Vietnam values cooperation with the Middle East and North Africa
On November 4, at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang received heads of delegations from Middle Eastern and North African countries attending the Economic Cooperation Forum between Vietnam and Middle Eastern and North African partners.

This is the first time the Forum between Vietnam and Middle East and North African countries has been held in Vietnam with the participation of 15 delegations and nearly 250 businesses from participating countries.
Thanking the President for the meeting and frank discussion on cooperation opportunities between the parties, the heads of delegations highly appreciated the initiative to organize this Forum, contributing to strengthening and further promoting the good relations between Vietnam and the Middle East and North Africa countries.
Delegates expressed confidence and optimism in the prospects of cooperation between the two sides, and were determined to implement the ideas and agreements reached at the Forum to enhance cooperation, especially in trade, energy, investment, labor and agriculture in the coming time. The heads of delegations asked Vietnam to create favorable conditions and support businesses from other countries to implement investment projects.
President Truong Tan Sang warmly welcomed delegations from Middle Eastern and North African countries attending the first Economic Cooperation Forum held in Vietnam.
The President emphasized that trade turnover between Vietnam and countries in this region has grown rapidly over the past 10 years. In its foreign policy, Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation with traditional countries, including the Middle East-North Africa region.
The President hopes that through this forum, the parties will discuss and promote strong cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, and oil and gas.
Appreciating a number of projects that have been and are being invested in by both sides, President Truong Tan Sang said that the two sides still have much potential to expand cooperation to bring two-way trade turnover beyond the current figure of nearly 8 billion USD.
Welcoming the ideas and recommendations of the delegation leaders, the President affirmed that Vietnam is ready to listen and create favorable conditions to encourage businesses from other countries to invest in Vietnam.
President Truong Tan Sang emphasized that, in the role of a bridge between countries and Vietnam, the heads of delegations continue to maintain the results achieved from the Forum, increase contacts with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities, which is a premise to further enhance cooperation between Vietnam and Middle Eastern and North African countries./.
