Vietnam has its first Special Economic Zone in Laos.

On the evening of January 7, in Vientiane, Lao Minister of Planning and Investment Somdy Douangdy, representing the Lao Government, and Mr. Le Van Kiem, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company signed to upgrade the Vientiane Golf Course and Real Estate Project into a Special Economic Zone.

On the evening of January 7, in Vientiane, Lao Minister of Planning and Investment Somdy Douangdy, representing the Lao Government, and Mr. Le Van Kiem, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company signed to upgrade the Vientiane Golf Course and Real Estate Project into a Special Economic Zone.

Witnessing the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam; Somsavath Lengsavad, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos; Ta Minh Chau, Ambassador of Vietnam to Laos and many senior officials of the two countries.

To achieve the goal of upgrading the Vientiane Golf Course and Real Estate Project into the Long Thanh Vientiane Special Economic Zone, the two sides agreed to adjust and add some contents to suit the structure and development policy of Laos' Special Economic Zone.

On the same day, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thoong lun Sisoulith received Labor Hero Le Van Kiem. The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated Hero Le Van Kiem's ​​investment activities in Laos, congratulated the Company on having a Special Economic Zone in Laos and believed that this Special Economic Zone will be effective, become a symbol of investment cooperation between the two countries, contributing to fostering the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked hero Le Van Kiem for his effective investment in Laos and his active participation in many social charity activities such as building schools, houses of gratitude, martyrs' cemeteries, helping Lao army veterans, performing eye surgeries for 3,000 poor blind people... with a total amount of more than 4.5 million USD.

Hero Le Van Kiem sincerely thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him, and thanked the Lao Party, Government and people for creating favorable conditions to help the Company accelerate the project's progress, and pledged to be determined to build the Special Economic Zone into a model economic zone, becoming a project imbued with Vietnam-Laos sentiment for today and future generations./.
