Vietnam won major prizes in the International Art Photography Contest

384 works were honored at the Award Ceremony of the 8th International Art Photography Contest in Vietnam 2015 (VN-15) organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on December 3, in Hanoi.

The international art photography contest in Vietnam is organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists every two years, sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the French Association Images Without Borders.

Up to now, the contest has become a prestigious playground, attracting a lot of attention from professional and amateur photographers in Vietnam and the world.

Photographer Pham Van Ti, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that the contest was launched from May 25 to September 17. The Organizing Committee received nearly 9,700 photos from 31 countries and territories.

The quality of the photos submitted this time was higher than in previous competitions. At the end of the competition, 384 works were selected for awards in all 4 categories.

In the Freedom category, the work “Take me home BW” by Abdulla AL-Mushaifri (Qatar) won the Gold Medal from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; the work “Old Age” by Tran Dinh Thuong (Vietnam) received the Gold Medal from the International Federation of Photographic Art.

In the theme of Women and Work, the Gold Medal of the International Federation of Photographic Art was awarded to the work “Tea for me” by Ravindra Ranasinghe (Sri Lanka); the Gold Medal of the French Image Without Borders Association went to the work “Pick up rice” by Tong Tran Son (Vietnam).

With the theme of Sublime Moments, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded the Gold Medal to “The Peek” by Paolo Tavaroli (Italy); the International Federation of Photographic Art awarded the Gold Medal to “Sublimation” by Nguyen Trung Kien (Vietnam).

In the Still Life category, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the International Federation of Photographic Art awarded Gold Medals to the works “Closing the Pain” by Nguyen Le Phuong and “I'm Sorry Mom” by Nguyen Vu Phuoc (Vietnam).

This year's VN-15 has many new features such as adding the award system of the French Image Without Borders Association in addition to the traditional award system of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the International Federation of Photographic Art; adding the themes Women and Work, Sublime Moments and Still Life along with the annual theme Freedom...

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists also organized an exhibition of outstanding works of the contest./.
