Vietnam completes construction of Russian technology cruiser

Voice of Russia said that Vietnam has completed the second ship in project 12.418, also known as the Molnya missile cruiser.

This is a modern cruiser class, equipped with powerful missile and firepower systems produced by the Russian Zorya Mashproekt Research and Manufacturing Complex.

In a press release from the Zorya Mashproekt complex, the second Molnya cruiser was completed and launched in Ho Chi Minh City in early April.

Also in the announcement, Zorya Mashproekt said that the two remaining Molnya ships of Vietnam are currently in the "completion and synchronization stage".

Molnya missile boats built in Vietnam are equipped with engine complexes and power systems supplied by the Zorya-Mashproekt shipyard within the framework of a joint venture project between Zorya-Mashproekt and the Vietnamese Ba Son shipyard.
