The film has caused much debate among audiences. Many French and international friends believe that this is an “atypical” film in Vietnam, but it has gradually brought Vietnamese filmmakers to a new way of making films and given Vietnamese audiences a new perspective and perception of the seventh art.
The film “Bi, Don’t Be Afraid!” was selected to be introduced at the Cannes Film Critics Week in 2010 and won the Jury Prize, received special reviews at the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2010 and an award at the Asian Film Festival in Tours in 2011./.
