Vietnam records 227 Covid-19 cases, 1 more case visited Bach Mai Hospital

The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases announced five new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in Vietnam to 227.

According to the announcement from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, 5 new cases of Covid-19, including:

Case 223 (BN223):Female patient, 29 years old, address: Hai Hau, Nam Dinh, took care of a relative at the Rehabilitation Department, Bach Mai Hospital from March 11. From March 11 to March 24, the patient often ate and bought groceries at the canteen, and had contact with the boiling water supply team of Truong Sinh Company.

On March 26, the patient developed a cough and fever and was transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2, for isolation. The screening test here showed positive results for SARS-CoV-2 virus. On March 30, the patient's sample was transferred to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. Currently, the patient is being isolated and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2, and is in stable health condition.

Case 224 (BN224):Male patient, 39 years old, Brazilian nationality, with address in Thao Dien ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. The patient lived in the same room with patient 158 ​​at Masteri apartment building, with no clinical symptoms.

From March 27, the patient was quarantined at HUFLIT School, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, the patient was transferred to Cu Chi Field Hospital for quarantine and monitoring.

Case 225 (BN225):Male patient, 35 years old, from An Dong, An Duong, Hai Phong, worked in Moscow, Russia for 10 years, returned to Vietnam on flight SU290 seat 50D on March 25, 2020 and was quarantined at FPT University - Hoa Lac, Thach That. After the screening test showed positive result for SARS-CoV-2, the patient was transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.

Case 226 (BN226):The 22-year-old male patient returned to Vietnam on the same flight as Patient 212 on March 27 and was quarantined at Vinh Phuc School of Culture and Arts. After testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, the patient was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.

Case 227 (BN227):Male patient, 31 years old, Bao Viet employee, son of patient 209, had close contact at home from March 16-25. Was quarantined at Duc Giang General Hospital from March 27. Tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on March 31, so was transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.

RECOMMENDATION:The whole country is implementing Directive 16/CT/-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister on social isolation for 15 days from 0:00 on April 1, 2020. The Ministry of Health recommends that people follow the following 5 points:

1. Limit going out as much as possible, only go out when absolutely necessary.

2. If you have to go out, always wear a mask and keep a distance, preferably 2m.

3. Wash your hands regularly with soap or sanitizer.

4. Regularly clean and ventilate your home, regularly wash surfaces, and practice healthy living.

5. Make a medical declaration (online via https://tokhaiyte.vn or download and use the NCOVI application from https://ncovi.vn), update your health status daily, and keep in regular contact with medical staff and medical facilities.
