Vietnam won third prize at the international youth pop music competition.

According to the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, young Vietnamese singer Khuat Duy Vinh, currently living in Germany, has won the third prize worth 20,000 euros at the 12th International Young Pop Competition "New Wave - 2013," which closed on July 28 in the city of Yurmala, Latvia.

Taking place over five days in the beautiful resort town of Yurmala, the International Young Pop Competition "New Wave - 2013" honored Cuban singer Roberto Kel Torres with the First Prize worth 50,000 euros and Georgian singer Saloma Katamadze with the Second Prize worth 30,000 euros. The Audience Award was given to young Russian singer Arsenyi Borodin.

Musician Igor Krutoi, one of the founders of the contest, said this year's contest attracted the largest number of contestants in the past 12 years, with 16 young singers from 12 countries around the world.

The competitions were exciting and engaging, bringing the audience beautiful melodies that will last forever.

Having gained valuable experience from the "New Wave" international youth pop competition, many singers participating in this competition have represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest./.
