Vietnam helps Laos train reporters and press management skills
In order to strengthen press cooperation in the context of ASEAN countries preparing to join the common community at the end of this year, on October 19, a delegation from the Academy of Journalism and Communication led by Associate Professor, Doctor Luu Van An, Deputy Director of the Academy, had working sessions with a number of Lao press institutes and agencies to concretize the cooperation program.

At the working session with the Lao Institute of Cultural Information and Tourism under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the delegation of the Academy of Journalism and Communication under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics agreed to continue to regularly exchange working delegations every year, exchange students and send cadres and reporters to study at the Academy of Journalism and Communication to improve press management skills, improve professional expertise for reporters and editors of the Lao press according to the Agreement signed on December 22, 2011; continue to create conditions for lecturers, reporters and scientists to conduct research on scientific topics of mutual interest; implement cooperation in research, scientific information and co-organize scientific seminars in Vietnam and Laos.
During the working session on the same day with Vientiane May newspaper, one of the major newspapers in Laos today, the two sides also agreed to cooperate in exchanging and training reporters and editors of Vientiane May newspaper in the context of the ASEAN community being established at the end of this year, which requires reporters and editors to improve their professional qualifications and working ability, in order to meet the increasing needs of readers and listeners...
During the working sessions, the parties all wished to adopt bilateral cooperation items to promote the relationship between the Academy of Journalism and Communication with the Lao Institute of Information, Culture and Tourism, Vientiane May newspaper and a number of Lao press agencies to develop further, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam./.
