Vietnam participates in the Youth Boxing World Championship for the first time
The three female Vietnamese boxers participating are Liu Thi Duyen (57kg), Nguyen Thi Yen (51kg) and Vuong Thi Vy (52kg).
For the first time, Vietnam sent three representatives to the 2011 World Youth Boxing Championships hosted by Türkiye from April 24. This is the first positive result of boxing being included in the 10 key sports of Group 1.
The three female Vietnamese athletes are Liu Thi Duyen (57kg), Nguyen Thi Yen (51kg) and Vuong Thi Vy (52kg). Although they have no hope of winning a medal at the tournament, these young athletes will have a chance to compete and improve their skills, especially Liu Thi Duyen, a key factor in the goal of competing for a place at the 2012 Olympics.
