Vietnam hopes PCA will issue a fair ruling on the East Sea lawsuit
Vietnam hopes that the PCA's ruling will create a basis for peaceful resolution of disputes in the East Sea.

On July 1, answering a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to the Philippines' lawsuit against China by the Arbitral Tribunal, which will issue its final ruling on July 12, 2016, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Hai Binh stated:
“Vietnam has been informed that the Arbitral Tribunal will issue its final ruling on July 12, 2016.
As a country directly involved in the disputes in the East Sea and a member state of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Vietnam always closely follows the developments of the case and hopes that the Arbitral Tribunal will issue a fair and objective judgment, creating a basis for the peaceful resolution of disputes in the East Sea.
Once again, Vietnam affirms its consistent stance of supporting the settlement of disputes in the East Sea by peaceful means on the basis of international law, and supporting full compliance with and implementation of all regulations and procedures of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.”./.
