Mr. Tran Phuong - Permanent Deputy Director of the Center for Talent Development Support, who participated in the training for the students, proudly said that this year's achievement of Vietnam is the highest in the participation. Among the 3 owners of the Gold Medal, Phan Minh Duc won the absolute score of 150/150. Among the delegations, only China has 1 absolute Gold Medal like Vietnam.
The remaining two Gold Medal winners from Vietnam both had the second highest score (140/150 points), of which female student Hoang Nguyen Minh Phuong was the youngest.
The International Mathematics Competition for Junior High School students has two age groups: Junior for grades 6 and 7 and Senior for grades 8 and 9. Since Vietnam only has a national exam for high school students, not for middle school students, the organizing committee specifically invited Hanoi - Amsterdam High School to send teams to represent Vietnamese students to compete.
The International Junior Mathematics Competition (IMC) is a competition founded by the Mathematical Association of several countries, together with the Chiu Chang Mathematics Education Foundation, and has been held annually since 1999. The IMC is a place for mathematicians to share and exchange mathematical knowledge and ideas, a place for cultural exchanges to promote peace, and a place for young contestants who love mathematics to compete.
In addition to the above achievements, the Vietnamese delegation also participated in a cultural exchange night with countries around the world with a dance performance of "Folk songs of three regions" that left a deep impression in the eyes of international friends.
