Vietnam cooperates and creates all conditions to search for missing plane

China thanks Vietnam for its timely and active attention and support in searching for the missing plane.

Regarding the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, on the afternoon of March 9, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh had a phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his deep sympathy and concern for the concerns of the Government and people of China and related countries as well as the families and relatives of the passengers on flight MH370.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that immediately after receiving the information, the Vietnamese Government paid great attention. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung directly directed the forces and authorities to mobilize all means and measures for search and rescue. Up to now, Vietnam has deployed many ships and aircraft in the area of ​​the incident to search for the missing plane and will continue to mobilize more aircraft and rescue vehicles. The Vietnam National Committee for Search and Rescue is on duty 24/24 hours, and has established a Southern Command Center located on Phu Quoc Island to directly direct the search. The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also established a special task force on duty 24/24 to coordinate with the authorities to handle the incident.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies of Vietnam are ready to create all conditions and coordinate with rescue forces of China and related countries to participate in the search in the area where the plane is suspected to be missing, as well as to resolve subsequent related work.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed sincere thanks from the Chinese Government and people to the Vietnamese Government and people for Vietnam's timely and active attention and support. The Chinese side trusts and highly appreciates the measures being implemented by the Vietnamese search and rescue forces.
