Vietnam attends the 35th Cobra Gold exercise
The exercise had 27 participating countries with 8,564 soldiers, of which 7 countries participated in all exercises.
Asia's largest military exercise, Cobra Gold, opened on the morning of February 9 in Chonburi province, Thailand, with the participation of 27 countries. Vietnam attended as an observer.
A total of 8,564 soldiers participated, including 7 countries participating in all exercises, namely the US, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia.

Thailand has the largest number of troops with 4,286, while the US contributes 3,288 troops.
Nine other countries including Vietnam, Laos, Chile, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brunei, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) attended as observers.
A group of seven countries, namely Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, France, Britain, Italy, Mongolia, Nepal and the Philippines, participated in part of the exercise, which specifically involved multinational operational planning.
Two countries, China and India, participated in the rescue and humanitarian assistance.
This year, the Cobra Gold exercise is larger in scale than last year. The 35th Cobra Gold is expected to end on February 19./.
