Vietnam "wins big" at the global international programming contest

According to Hanoi National University, the Java # team of the University of Technology - Hanoi National University, the only representative of Vietnam participating in the "ACM/ICPC 2015 Global Collegiate Programming Contest" has brought the highest achievement ever for Vietnam at the contest.

With this result, Vietnam has contributed to significantly improving the image and position of Vietnam's information technology training sector in the eyes of international friends.

Java Team # (consisting of 3 members Nguyen Duc Nam, Nguyen Phan Quang Minh and Do Xuan Viet) solved 6 out of 13 problems, this is the highest achievement ever of Vietnam. If ranked, Vietnam ranked 20th in the competition.

Head of the Vietnamese delegation, Ho Dac Phuong, shared that domestic and international IT competitions have brought Java a lot of experience and good spirit in terms of psychology, test-taking methods, team spirit...

Since 2006, Vietnam has continuously had a team in the top 100 universities registered in the ACM/ICPC global finals. 2015 is the fourth year that the University of Engineering and Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi has had a team with high results and entered the ACM/ICPC global finals.

The 2015 ACM/ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest attracted participants from more than 4,000 universities across all continents. After regional rounds, the 128 strongest teams participated in the global final round held on May 25 in Morocco.

ACM/ICPC is an annual international programming competition that brings together the best students in programming and algorithms from around the world. The competition was first held in the US in 1977 under the auspices of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and since 1989, the competition has been open to information technology students worldwide.
