According to the latest information on the EF EPI English Proficiency Ranking and Report for Non-Native English Speaking Countries published on November 12, 2014, Vietnam is among the fastest-improving countries globally in terms of English proficiency.

The EF Adult English Proficiency Index, third edition, ranks 60 countries and territories.

Three Southeast Asian countries - Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam - are among the fastest improving countries in the world in terms of English proficiency. Indonesia has caught up with Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.
Most countries in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa have low or very low English proficiency. Argentina, the Dominican Republic and the United Arab Emirates stand out with average English proficiency, far above other countries in the region.
