Vietnam increases its own power for RPG-7
Although it was born in the Soviet era, the RPG-7 anti-tank gun is still trusted by many countries and they are looking for ways to increase its power.
New version
The Belarusian Scientific Research and Production Center has developed a new version of the RPG-7 anti-tank gun based on a Soviet prototype, Jane's Defence Weekly reported. The new system is known as the Ovod-R.
According to revealed information, Ovod-R replaces the PGO-7V3 optical sight used on the RPG-7 with the PD-7 smart sight, along with a laser rangefinder and NV/A-1 night vision device.

The new sighting system is fully compatible with 40mm RPG-7 grenade launcher ammunition such as RHEAT-7MA1 double-charge armor-piercing ammunition, RHEF-7MA high-explosive ammunition, RF-7MA fragmentation ammunition, RTB-7MA thermobaric ammunition...
The PD-7 sight is said to provide high-precision targeting and tracking capabilities. The system includes an optical channel, a laser rangefinder, a ballistic computer and a dynamic target marker.
The special feature of this system is that it can control 6 different types of grenades with a viewing angle of about 17 degrees with 3x magnification. This system has a target search range of the sight ranging from 50-1,500 m.
Despite converging many advanced features, the PD-7 only weighs about 2 kg, it uses 2 AA batteries with a continuous operating time of up to 8 hours. In addition, the PD-7 also has a high level of automation in searching and tracking targets, providing the shooter with the ability to attack quickly and accurately within the scope of the sight.
Vietnam strengthens itself
Not only Belarus, to increase the combat capability of the RPG-7 anti-tank gun, Vietnam has successfully manufactured a aiming line testing device for this weapon.
When this sighting device was not yet available, it was difficult for officers to check the RPG-7 sighting of soldiers and could only be checked by looking through the barrel from behind, which was not very accurate and affected safety.

The Vietnamese RPG-7 is known as the B41. |
The structure of this device consists of a plastic tube, on which a reflective lens is mounted, then connected directly to the sight on the RPG-7. The training officer uses the above-mentioned lens to check and adjust the sight of the RPG-7 gunner. Through many tests, this sight checking device has a very high accuracy.
In addition to the advantage of accurate test results, the RPG-7 gun sight test device is also very convenient to use; it can be widely applied in practice in training units because the production cost of the above equipment is very low.
