Vietnam and Indonesia strengthen agricultural cooperation promotion

On the afternoon of December 28, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai received Indonesian Minister of Rural Development, Least Developed Areas and Migration Marwan Jafar and his delegation who are on a working visit to Vietnam.

Welcoming the Indonesian delegation to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 30, 1955 - December 30, 2015), Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia over the past time.

Indonesia is currently Vietnam's fourth largest trading partner in ASEAN and the two sides still have much potential to strengthen cooperation in all fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment and science and technology...

In the agricultural sector, the two sides can further strengthen cooperation, share experiences in hunger eradication and poverty reduction, build new rural areas and overcome the consequences of natural disasters...

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the Indonesian Government's focus on investment and improving people's lives, especially those living in remote areas.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that Vietnam is also focusing on implementing the United Nations' sustainable development goals, restructuring agriculture, developing rural areas and reducing poverty...

Therefore, the two countries can strengthen cooperation, share experiences and coordinate to seek international support to improve the lives of people in remote areas.

Thanking Vietnam for the warm welcome, Minister Marwan Jafar said that the working trip of the delegation of the Ministry of Village Development, Least Developed Areas and Migration of Indonesia has achieved many positive results, opening up new cooperation opportunities in the agricultural sector with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

Minister Marwan Jafar hopes that the Vietnamese Government will create conditions to further promote the long-established relationship between the two countries to a new level, in a concrete and practical manner, especially in areas where the two countries have potential and similarities such as agriculture, production and consumption of agricultural products, poverty reduction, new rural construction, etc., contributing to further tightening the friendly and close relationship between the people of the two countries./.
