Vietnam came second in the 9th ASEAN Skills Competition

The Vietnamese delegation won 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and 11 certificates of excellent vocational skills.

On the morning of March 23, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to summarize the 9th ASEAN Skills Competition in 2012. Attending the conference were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu.

The 9th ASEAN Skills Competition was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, with the participation of 246 candidates from 9 member countries (excluding Myanmar), with 22 occupations organized, such as: Mechatronics, mechanical design, information technology software solutions, carpentry, automotive technology, etc.

The Vietnamese delegation participated in 22 professions, including 3 professions participating for the first time: Information technology network system administration, industrial automation and hair design.

At the end of the competition, the Vietnamese delegation successfully completed its mission with 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and 11 certificates of excellent vocational skills, ranking 2nd, after Indonesia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh highly appreciated the results that the Vietnamese contestants achieved in the 9th ASEAN Skills Competition; The excellent achievements of the Vietnamese delegation this time demonstrated the ability of Vietnamese workers to integrate with other countries in the region, demonstrating the significant efforts of the Vietnamese vocational training system in the context of many difficulties in terms of facilities, equipment and funding.

The results of the Delegation will strongly promote the movement of vocational training and honor workers in the context of a shortage of highly skilled labor in Vietnam./.
