Vietcombank Vinh celebrates 25th anniversary, receives Certificate of Merit from the Government

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 25, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Vinh Branch (Vietcombank Vinh) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate25 yearsestablished and received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

Attending the event were: Dao Minh Tu - Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Nguyen Hoa Binh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam; Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of ministries, central and local branches.

Vietcombank Vinh Branch was established in 1989, formerly the Foreign Exchange Department of the State Bank of Nghe An Province. The branch strives to become a strong brand, creating a position and trust with the customer community and businesses inside and outside the province. The branch's credit activities have continuously grown. From the time of establishment, the credit balance was only 15 billion VND, up to now, the credit balance of the branch has reached over 3,500 billion VND (233 times higher than when it was established). Currently, the mobilized capital reaches 5,560 billion VND, accounting for 10% of the market share of the whole province, the average mobilization level of staff is 36.5 billion VND/person. The average annual credit balance growth rate is 25%.

Vietcombank Vinh is a pioneer in expanding lending to economic sectors and currently, the bank is diversifying its financial investment objects, focusing on industries with great potential and strengths of Nghe An such as: purchasing, processing agricultural, forestry, seafood products, minerals for export, importing machinery, equipment and materials. In addition to short-term investment, the unit proactively seeks feasible projects inside and outside the province.

Typical projects include: Vinasat 1 Telecommunications (loan of 20 million USD); Nghe An Tate & Lyle Sugar Factory Project (loan of 12 million USD); Quang Tri Hydropower Project of EVN (loan of 100 billion VND); National Highway 1A Repair Project of Road Administration II (loan of nearly 100 billion VND); Vinh City Bypass BOT Project of Traffic Construction Corporation 4 (loan of 50 billion VND), Bottling Line Investment Project of Hanoi - Nghe An Beer Joint Stock Company (loan of 45 billion VND), Line 2 Investment Project of Trung Do Granite Brick Factory (loan of 40 billion VND)...

At the ceremony, authorized by the Prime Minister, Comrade Dao Minh Tu - Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Vietcombank Vinh for its outstanding achievements from 2011 - 2013. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented a banner from the Provincial People's Committee with the inscription: "Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Vinh Branch - 25 years of solidarity, construction, innovation and development (1989 - 2014)".
