Vietinbank - Vinh City Branch: Efforts to affirm position and brand

(Baonghean) - VietinBank - Vinh City Branch operates under the direct guidance of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade. The Branch has 100 officers and employees, 6 functional departments at the head office and 7 transaction offices operating in Vinh City. 2014 marked the 20-year journey of building and developing the Branch and changed its name from VietinBank - Ben Thuy Branch to VietinBank - Vinh City Branch. Currently, the Branch's Party Committee has 5 affiliated Party cells, with 45 Party members.

Implementing the Resolution of the 5th Branch Congress, term 2010 - 2015, identifying the importance of capital, the Party Committee has directed the strict implementation of regulations on capital mobilization interest rate ceilings under the direction of the Government and the State Bank; applying many different products and mobilization channels... By December 31, 2014, the total capital mobilized on the spot of the branch reached more than 2,500 billion VND, reaching more than 310% compared to the beginning of the term. Capital grew on average 32.5%/year, exceeding the target set by the Congress of 10 - 15%. Regarding credit investment, the branch always closely followed the development orientation of the locality and the industry. The loan structure has been shifted to focus on small and medium enterprises, business households and individuals, loans to support exports, imports, agriculture, rural areas, and housing purchases for low-income people... Total outstanding loans by the end of 2014 reached nearly 2,000 billion VND, equal to 200% compared to the beginning of the term; average annual outstanding loan growth was more than 18%, exceeding the Congress's target of 10-15%.

Risk management is given special attention through the construction of complete and synchronized operational processes. Therefore, risks are identified and controlled more comprehensively. On the other hand, the branch has closely coordinated with functional agencies, focusing on recovering outstanding debts, contributing to financial health, increasing the quality of existing assets. Service activities are focused on large areas, including: Trade finance, payment activities, remittance payments, foreign currency trading, e-banking... combined with the application of modern technologies, meeting the increasingly high demands of customers. Income from service activities has continuously increased over the years, with a growth rate of more than 27%/year.

Thanks to safe business operations and high growth, 100% of staff have stable jobs with income increasing year by year. Social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance regimes are fully and promptly implemented according to regulations. The material and spiritual life of staff is increasingly improved. The branch has provided financial support and created conditions for employees to go on vacation, get medical examination and treatment; gave birthday gifts; regularly visited and encouraged employees when there were happy or sad events, illnesses, and had appropriate treatment mechanisms for employees who applied for early retirement...

The Party Committee also led the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, ensuring harmony of interests of the State - enterprises - workers; maximizing the ownership rights of workers through trade unions and workers' conferences. During the term, the branch actively participated in social and humanitarian activities with a total contribution of more than 2.5 billion VND. Participated in humanitarian blood donation; cared for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; organized visits and implemented preferential policies of the State for families of war invalids, martyrs, policy families... contributing to ensuring social security in the area. The work of Party building and leadership of the political system was focused. During the term, 12 new party members were admitted; the Party Committee continuously achieved the title of Strong Party Committee. The Party Committee led the arrangement and consolidation of personnel of departments and offices in accordance with the restructuring roadmap of VietinBank on the basis of taking customers as the center.
