This traditional dish is introduced by the National Airline in the program to upgrade the quality of food service on flights to 4-star standards.

Since September 2015, Business Class passengers on flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Heathrow (London, UK) have been served beef pho. This is one of three main dishes for them to choose from for breakfast.

This change is part of Vietnam Airlines’ program to upgrade the quality of in-flight catering services to 4-star standards. After the route to the UK, beef noodle soup will continue to be served on flights from Vietnam to France, Germany, Australia and Japan. This is also the time when B787-9 and A350-900 aircraft will be put into operation on the above routes.

The pho served to Vietnam Airlines customers is prepared by experienced chefs from Noi Bai Aviation Catering Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Aviation Catering One Member Co., Ltd. With carefully selected ingredients and delicate and skillful preparation, the National Airline hopes to bring passengers delicious bowls of pho like those in famous restaurants in Hanoi.

Compared to before, Vietnam Airlines' menu is more abundant and diverse. The menu on each flight is designed separately, clearly separating the outbound and return flights and changing according to each time and season to suit the taste of passengers.

In addition, the food, drinks and utensils are all redesigned on economy flights and upgraded to hotel restaurant standards on business class flights. Drinks are also supplemented with fresh fruit juices, cocktails, coffee, purified water, and sparkling water.
