Viettel "joins hands" with Microsoft to turn Vietnam into a technology model
The Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) and Microsoft have signed a cooperation agreement in providing infrastructure and information technology services to Vietnamese government agencies.

In the announcement released on the morning of October 2, Viettel said that the areas of cooperation between the two sides include providing infrastructure and services on cloud computing platforms in the form of: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
The two sides will also work closely to provide consultation, analysis, design and implementation, especially on cloud computing and security solutions, suitable for the needs of government agencies.
Mr. Tong Viet Trung, Deputy General Director of Viettel, said that according to the plan, by the end of 2016, hundreds of thousands of government officials and employees will benefit from this cooperation program. After that, Viettel and Microsoft will continue to provide other infrastructure services on the cloud computing platform according to the actual needs of ministries, departments, and branches...
In addition to cooperating to deploy services for the Government, Viettel and Microsoft will also continue to cooperate to deploy and provide cloud-based services for business and individual customers.
“Microsoft will mobilize leading experts from Singapore, the US… to participate in this cooperation program and commit to successfully implementing it, making Vietnam a model for information and communication technology in the world,” said Mr. Brad Smith, Vice President of Microsoft Corporation.
