The two action superstars and “female fighter” Michelle Rodriguez were surprised and excited to receive conical hats with their portraits drawn on them from Vietnamese fans at the premiere of the blockbuster “Fast & Furious 7”.

Last weekend, the blockbuster that opened the 2015 summer movie season - Fast & Furious 7 - had its premiere in Beijing, China with the participation of three Hollywood stars: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham. At this event, the media from many markets in the Asian region, including three Vietnamese reporters, also attended and interviewed the three stars of the highly anticipated blockbuster.

On behalf of the Fast & Furious fan community in Vietnam, three reporters brought traditional conical hats of the S-shaped country and drew portraits of the three stars to hand to Vin, Jason and Michelle.

The two muscular stars and the “action girl” of Fast & Furious 7 were very surprised to receive a special gift from a Vietnamese fan. Vin Diesel was the most excited. During a conversation with MC Tung Leo, “Dominic Toretto” of Fast & Furious asked to pause the interview to try on the hat and clearly pronounce the word “non la” in Vietnamese.

Vin Diesel was so excited that during the interview, he wore a conical hat to answer questions and made many funny gestures. When asked if Fast & Furious 8 would be a movie setting in Vietnam, Vin Diesel replied that the settings in the Fast & Furious episodes all came from fan requests and the surprises they brought him, like this hat.

Joining the conversation with nearly 10 journalists from different parts of Asia, Jason Statham immediately noticed the conical hat with his portrait painted on it as soon as he entered the room. When he learned that this was a gift from a Vietnamese fan, the “delivery man” was moved. He tried it on and took a picture with the hat before handing it over to his manager with the message: “Please keep this gift carefully for me.”

Jason Statham said he appreciates this special gift from Vietnamese fans.

Jason Statham also said he hopes to come to Vietnam one day to meet his fans there. Right after finishing his conversation with the press, the British actor went to his manager to look at the hat again and kept exclaiming: "I can't believe they can draw me like that in just one day?".

Three conical hats for Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham were prepared by the Vietnamese fan community right before the film's premiere in Beijing and given to three reporters attending the event.

Michelle Rodriguez was as surprised as Vin Diesel and Jason Statham when she saw a conical hat with her portrait drawn by a Vietnamese fan as a gift. The “action girl” also revealed that she knows Vietnamese people often ride motorbikes: “I just got my motorbike license last month and I really want to have the opportunity to come to Vietnam to ride a motorbike around the streets.”

Immediately after the premiere in Beijing (China), the three stars flew back to the US to prepare for the global premiere of Fast & Furious 7 in Los Angeles. With a budget of up to 250 million USD, this work is the blockbuster opening this summer movie season.

This is also the last film of the ill-fated actor Paul Walker - who died in a tragic traffic accident in late 2013 before completing his role as Brian O'Connor. Paul's two younger brothers had to replace him to finish filming scenes in Fast & Furious 7. The film also had to postpone its scheduled release from last summer to this year.

Fast & Furious 7 will be released in Vietnam on April 3rd - the same day as in North America - in all three formats: 2D, 3D and 4DX. The IMAX 3D version will be shown from April 19th. On April 1st and 2nd, the film will also have early screenings for the most enthusiastic fans of this famous action series.
