Vinamilk spends 1,500 billion VND to purchase raw fresh milk

(Baonghean.vn) - In the first 9 months of 2013, Vinamilk purchased 115,300 tons of raw fresh milk from farmers in all regions of the country, with a total purchase value of nearly 1,500 billion VND, an increase of about 10% compared to the same period in 2012. Vinamilk's current purchase price of raw fresh milk is about 13,600 VND/liter on average. Raw fresh milk has different purchase prices depending on the preferential development policy conditions of the region.

Thanks to absolute compliance with Vietnamese standards and Codex standards (international standards in food trade), Vinamilk's dairy products are not only trusted and chosen by domestic consumers but also exported to 26 countries around the world such as the US, Australia, Canada, Russia, Japan, Thailand, Korea, Turkey, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Korea, the Middle East region...

Not only providing domestic and international consumers with safe dairy products, Vinamilk also ensures the nutrition and quality of its products according to international standards. To achieve that, Vinamilk has put into operation two new factories, the Vietnam Powdered Milk Factory and the Vietnam Milk Factory (producing liquid milk), applying modern processing technology and an advanced food safety quality management system that meets international standards. In addition, Vinamilk always innovates, invests in the most modern and advanced production lines and technologies at a global level.

In addition to boldly investing in the latest production technology, Vinamilk also proactively sources stable, high-quality raw materials. Vinamilk is currently associated with more than 5,000 dairy farming households in many provinces and cities, with a total of 65,000 cows, purchasing 460 tons of raw milk per day. Currently, Vinamilk purchases more than 60% of raw fresh milk from farmers nationwide.

In addition, since the beginning of 2007, Vinamilk has invested more than 500 billion VND to build 5 dairy farms in Tuyen Quang, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, importing purebred high-yield HF cows from Australia. In the near future, Vinamilk will invest in 4 new farms with a total investment of about 3,000 billion VND in Tay Ninh (10,000 cows); Ha Tinh (3,000 cows); Thanh Hoa 1 (Thong Nhat) with 20,000 cows and Thanh Hoa 2 (Nhu Thanh) with 3,000 cows.

Recently, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) has contributed capital to establish Thong Nhat Thanh Hoa Dairy Cow Company Limited in the largest dairy cow farming project in the country to date. With 17 main business lines, the new company mainly operates in the agriculture and forestry sector, with a charter capital of 600 billion VND (Vinamilk contributed 570 billion VND, accounting for 95%). In Thanh Hoa, Thong Nhat One Member Co., Ltd. is managing and using more than 2,494 hectares of land. After partnering with Vinamilk, this land is considered an asset for capital contribution, which will be converted to build a system of barns and grow grass to provide food for 20,000 dairy cows.

With steady steps, Vinamilk's goal of becoming one of the 50 largest dairy companies in the world by 2017 with a turnover of 3 billion USD will certainly become a reality, and may even be able to complete the goal sooner than expected.
