Vinamilk was honored as a national brand in 2014.

(Baonghean) - At the 2014 National Brand Award Ceremony organized by the National Brand Council and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which recently took place in Hanoi, Vinamilk is the only milk brand in the Vietnamese dairy industry to continue to be honored as a National Brand.

Congratulating and praising 63 enterprises recognized as National Brands in 2014, especially 48 enterprises continuing to maintain the title from previous years, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai emphasized that this is something to be proud of, because in recent years, the Vietnamese economy as well as the world's economy has faced many difficulties, but brands have still maintained, built and developed in the domestic and international markets. This proves the capacity and mettle of Vietnamese enterprises. "We are participating in a flat world, National Brands demonstrate the competitiveness of each country. Without products and services that meet world needs, it is impossible to expand the market when the integration trend expands", the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.

Vinamilk is one of the leading milk producers in Vietnam, the only dairy company in Vietnam and the region to win the 2014 Global Food Industry Award in Canada. Over the years, Vinamilk has grown rapidly and sustainably, with a revenue of VND31,586 billion in 2013. Estimated revenue in 2014 is VND36,000 billion, an increase of about 14% compared to 2013, and the State budget contribution is about VND3,500 billion. In 2013, Vinamilk inaugurated and put into operation two of the world's most modern powdered milk and liquid milk super factories, with a fully automatic system controlled by robots. Vinamilk is also the first dairy company in the world to use a smart warehouse to import and export goods using a robot system. Vinamilk has invested in a system of high-tech dairy farms across the country - where there are milk processing factories - with the aim of localizing 50% of input materials for production. Vinamilk's domestic distribution system includes two main channels: direct sales at 600 supermarkets and through more than 230,000 retail points. In addition, Vinamilk's products are also exported to 31 countries around the world. In its strategy, Vinamilk is setting a goal of achieving sales of 3 billion USD and entering the Top 50 largest dairy companies in the world by 2017.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, CEO of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) affirmed: “This is a great honor, recognizing the efforts of the enterprise over the past time. Vinamilk is very proud to be honored as a National Brand for 3 consecutive years. This honor will help Vinamilk continue to enhance its established competitive advantage in the dairy industry in Vietnam, which is Vinamilk's core competency”. In recent years, with the mission of being a National Brand, Vinamilk has made great strides in the regional and world markets, including establishing a joint venture in Cambodia, investing in a factory in New Zealand, establishing a subsidiary in Europe and acquiring a dairy company in the US... "Vinamilk will continue its business goals with the core business of milk and dairy products, not only domestically but also in foreign markets, so that when mentioning Vinamilk, international consumers will know that it is a National Brand of Vietnam", Mr. Khanh added.

Selected from 1,500 applications, Vinamilk is one of 63 brands attending the ceremony and is the only representative of the Vietnamese dairy industry to be named in the list honored by the Government. The selection of enterprises is not only based on the growth rate and scale of the enterprise but also on tax obligations, social obligations, implementation of social insurance regimes, regimes for employees, responsibility to the community, environmental protection... of each enterprise.
