Vinamilk starts construction of high-tech dairy farm complex in Thanh Hoa
On August 10, 2015, in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company - Vinamilk held a groundbreaking ceremony and started construction of the High-tech Dairy Farm Complex in Thong Nhat Town (Yen Dinh District - Thanh Hoa). This is a major event marking the remarkable development of Vinamilk's dairy farming industry towards modernity, efficiency and sustainability.
The total initial investment for this project is 1,600 billion VND. The project has a total area of 2,500 hectares (25 million m2), of which 147 hectares are for farm construction and 1,600 hectares for developing green feed materials for the herd. The complex of Vinamilk high-tech dairy farms in Thanh Hoa is invested in construction with the world's most modern technology and machinery in the field of dairy farming today.

This complex of dairy farms was designed by GEA Farm Technologies (USA). Advanced farming technology helps optimize operations when the farm is put into operation; Meets the conditions of ISO 9001-2008 and GLOBAL GAP standards. Sanitation, waste treatment, and environmental protection also apply the world's most advanced technologies. Automatic spray cooling system; Food storage and processing systems are invested in a very synchronous manner; Product quality control systems, herd management, reproductive support, and health monitoring are also fully automatic, controlled by computer and data is transmitted to the Company's headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vinamilk's high-tech dairy farm complex in Thanh Hoa will import cows from Australia and the US with a scale of 16,000 cows and can increase to 24,000 cows in phase 2. Providing an average milk output of 98,630 kg/day, equivalent to more than 36 million liters/year. The project is expected to be operational in 2017.

To meet the production demand with an output of hundreds of millions of liters of milk each year, Vinamilk has been investing systematically to develop raw materials according to international standards from grass planting, barn construction, cow feed processing to animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, waste treatment to protect the environment...
To date, Vinamilk has 08 large-scale farms with all cows imported from Australia, New Zealand and the US. Vinamilk's farms are the first in Southeast Asia to be certified Global GAP for Good Agricultural Practices, and recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a High-Tech Enterprise. In addition, Vinamilk's dairy farm in Nghe An was also certified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as the best farm in 2014.

Currently, in addition to 8 operating farms, Vinamilk also cooperates with nearly 8,000 farms/households raising nearly 100,000 dairy cows nationwide, purchasing an average output of about 650 tons of milk/day, contributing to creating many jobs for farmers, building a stable and sustainable development of Vietnam's dairy farming industry.
Not stopping there, since 2015, Vinamilk has continued to invest more than 2,400 billion VND to build large-scale farms. Vinamilk continues to import breeding cows to meet the demand for high-yielding breeding cows for farms. Aiming to increase the total herd of Vinamilk and associated farms and farmers to about 140,000 - 160,000 cows by 2020.

In the last 5 years, Vinamilk has always achieved impressive growth rates: average revenue increased by over 20%/year; average state budget contribution of over 3,000 billion VND/year. In the first 7 months of 2015, Vinamilk achieved revenue of nearly 23,000 billion VND, an increase of nearly 17% over the same period, and state budget contribution of nearly 2,600 billion VND.
