Vinamilk launches the "1 million trees" program in response to World Environment Day
(Baonghean.vn) -Within the framework of the National Rally in response to World Environment Day jointly organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on the morning of June 5, Vinamilk launched the program "1 Million Trees Fund for Vietnam" in 2013.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and leaders of central ministries, departments and agencies participated in the program and directly planted trees at the Emperor Quang Trung Memorial Site - Ban Mountain (Hue City).
“The 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund” is sponsored by the beverage brand Vfresh, a subsidiary of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company – Vinamilk. Vinamilk representatives presented 20,000 seedlings to people in Dien Mon commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province.

The program also planted 20 precious trees such as green lim, magnolia, go mat, kônia… in the grounds of the Emperor Quang Trung Memorial Area – Ban Mountain. This is the opening activity for the 2013 tree planting journey of the program “1 Million Trees Fund for Vietnam”. The goal of the program is to contribute to creating green landscapes, shading for the space and preventing climate change in rural areas with many natural disasters and storms and floods.

“The 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund” is a joint program between the General Department of Environment and the Vfresh beverage brand of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company – Vinamilk, launched in 2012. After more than 1 year, the program has organized tree planting in 8 provinces and cities nationwide with nearly 70,000 trees of all kinds.
Vinamilk representative said that after Thua Thien - Hue, Vinamilk's "1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund" will continue to plant trees in many other provinces and cities across the country, including Nghe An.
