Vinamilk plants 61,000 trees and gives away 119,000 glasses of milk on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
(Baonghean.vn) - To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2019), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company - Vinamilk to organize the Tree Planting Ceremony of the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund, and at the same time presented milk from the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund to children in Hanoi.
The program was attended by Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Vo Tuan Nhan - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Hoang Van Tien - Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Ms. Bui Thi Huong - Executive Director of Human Resources, Administration and External Relations of Vinamilk.

Promoting the meaningful teachings of President Ho Chi Minh:“For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees. For the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people.”and to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, Vinamilk, together with the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund and the Vietnam Grow Milk Fund, held a ceremony to donate more than 61,000 trees; with a total value of about 1.1 billion VND and 119,000 glasses of milk worth 800 million VND to children in Hanoi.
With the desire that children in the capital will enjoy a clean and beautiful environment, the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund has planted trees in kindergartens, primary schools and residential areas in Hanoi, especially in areas near waste complexes with high air pollution. This activity will help create green areas and shady landscapes for schools and contribute to improving the learning and living environment for children. At the same time, it will help children form an awareness of environmental protection and live close to nature from an early age.

Specifically, green areas will be enhanced at the learning places of more than thousands of students at primary schools and kindergartens in Hanoi such as Tien Duoc B Primary School, Tien Duoc Commune, Soc Son District; Phu Linh B Kindergarten, Hong Ky B Kindergarten, and Bac Son Kindergarten. The 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund will also plant more trees in Bac Son Commune, Soc Son District - one of the 3 communes planning to build a waste treatment complex, to contribute to reducing water and air pollution, helping to improve the soil, create green areas and reduce air pollution in this area.
Ms. Bui Thi Huong - Executive Director of Administration, Human Resources & External Relations - Vinamilk shared:“Air pollution and climate change are urgent issues today, affecting our lives every day and every hour. Especially for children, the future generation of the country. Therefore, in addition to taking care of nutrition for the community, a green, clean and beautiful living environment to improve the health of people and children is the top concern and goal of Vinamilk over the past years. During the 8 years of accompanying the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund, Vinamilk wishes to join hands with the community to improve and protect the living environment for ourselves and future generations.”
2019 is the 8th year of the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund's journey to bring green across the length of the country. To date, the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund has planted 800,000 trees.of all kinds with a value of 11 billion VND in 22 provinces and cities across the country. The program is gradually getting closer to the goal of planting 1 million trees for Vietnam.

On this special occasion, the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund also donated 119,000 cups of nutritious milk to more than 1,300 disadvantaged children in Hanoi, with a total value of VND800 million. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 10 scholarships (including milk and VND5 million in cash each) to 10 disadvantaged students of Tien Duoc B Primary School to share difficulties, encourage and support the children and their families.
With 1,635,000 glasses of milk worth nearly 11 billion VND for 18,000 children in 25 provinces and cities across the country in 2019, the total number of glasses of milk that the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund has given in the past 12 years is 35 million glasses, equivalent to151 billion VNDcome tonearly 441,000 childrendifficulties in Vietnam, from Ha Giang - the northernmost point of the country to the southernmost point of Ca Mau. Most recently, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund also organized a ceremony to give milk to poor children in Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Ninh Binh, Lam Dong, Ben Tre, Nghe An, An Giang... gradually realizing the mission "For every child to drink milk every day".

Mr. Hoang Van Tien - Director of Vietnam Children's Fund, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said:“In Vietnam, not only in rural areas but also in big cities, there are still many children in difficult circumstances who do not receive adequate nutritional care and drinking milk regularly is still a luxury for them. Therefore, the Vietnam Children's Fund, with the support of Vinamilk, through the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund, will continue to make more efforts to bring nutritious glasses of milk to children across Vietnam, contributing to their better physical and mental development.”
Students participating in the program received free health check-ups and nutrition consultations from doctors at the Vinamilk Nutrition Consulting Center. In addition, the organizers also presented the students with attractive performances, fun and creative games, and especially an exchange with the program's Ambassador - Artist Xuan Bac.

Also at the event, Vinamilk cooperated with Tetra Pak Company to organize a program to exchange 10 used milk cartons for 1 tree, aiming to build environmental protection awareness among students. This activity is part of the project to collect and recycle milk cartons implemented by Tetra Pak Vietnam Company with Vinamilk.
