Vinamilk donates 500 million VND to build a school in Truong Sa
Vinamilk has just donated 500 million VND to the program “For beloved Truong Sa students”. This amount will be part of the budget to build a school on Truong Sa Lon Island. Vinamilk contributes to building schools in Truong Sa
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu - Chairman of Vinamilk's Trade Union said: "Participating in protecting, investing in building and developing Truong Sa is the duty, responsibility, and at the same time the aspiration and sentiment of Vinamilk's staff". Previously, Vinamilk's staff also donated more than 1.4 billion VND to implement the program "Contributing stones to build Truong Sa".
In more than 36 years of presence in the Vietnamese market, Vinamilk has not only brought consumers many products beneficial to health, but has also always paid attention to community-oriented activities. The Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund, established in 2008, has helped more than 273,000 children across the country enjoy nearly 19 million glasses of nutritious milk with a total value of about 69 billion VND sponsored by Vinamilk. The Vinamilk Scholarship Fund for Nurturing Young Vietnamese Talents has awarded scholarships to more than 33,000 primary school students in 63 provinces and cities nationwide for 9 consecutive years until 2012, with a total scholarship value of up to 18 billion VND.
In 2012, Vinamilk continues to carry out its mission for the community in the environmental field to bring a clean environment, creating better living conditions for the Vietnamese people through the Fund "1 million trees for Vietnam; sponsoring a solar-powered lighting system at the Hang Duong Martyrs Cemetery in Con Dao - Ba Ria Vung Tau.
Over the years, during floods in the Central region, in order to share with the difficult circumstances of the Central region, Vinamilk has organized delegations to directly visit, encourage and give gifts to many people in the Central provinces worth billions of VND each year.
Last September, together with the Central Disaster Prevention Support Fund, Vinamilk supported the shock troops in 7 central provinces including Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan with 70 rescue boats, with a total value of nearly 600 million VND.
