Vinamilk has just been licensed by the FDA to import products into the US.

(Baonghean.vn) -Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) has just been granted a certificate by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) to import products into the US market.

According to US regulations on food safety and bioterrorism, food manufacturers who want to be consumed by consumers in the US must register with the FDA. Being assessed and granted a registration certificate by the FDA is the first step that allows businesses to import goods into the US market. After registration, Vinamilk can export products to the US at any time, the FDA can conduct surprise and random inspections of Vinamilk's facilities, the FDA inspection process is extremely strict with very high requirements on food safety and quality. Vinamilk's registration with the FDA proves that Vinamilk is ready for this inspection.

Established in 1976, nearly 37 years ago, from two small initial milk factories, Thong Nhat Milk Factory and Truong Tho Milk Factory, Vinamilk now has 12 factories and is the leading enterprise in the Vietnamese dairy industry. At the end of April, Vinamilk inaugurated and put into operation the Vietnam Children's Powdered Milk Factory with a total investment of 2,000 billion VND (equivalent to nearly 100 million USD).

This is one of the most modern powdered milk factories in Asia, invested by Vinamilk to improve the international nutritional quality of Vinamilk's powdered milk products for children, increase consumer confidence and contribute to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese dairy industry in the world market. The Vietnam powdered milk factory for children was invested by Vinamilk with 100% of its own capital at Tu Do Avenue, VSIP 1 Industrial Park - Thuan An Town - Binh Duong Province on an area of ​​6 hectares, of which the construction area is up to 35,000 m2.

With a total capacity of 54,000 tons of powdered milk per year, the factory will meet the demand for international standard milk for 700,000 Vietnamese children each year. All equipment and advanced technology of the factory are provided by GEA Group - Federal Republic of Germany according to the most modern factory model currently applied in the world. From this factory, Vinamilk's powdered milk products will not only serve the domestic market but will also be exported to many countries around the world, including the US market.

Not only having 12 domestic factories, Vinamilk also invested in a milk factory in New Zealand and Vinamilk's products are now exported to 26 countries around the world. For many years, Vinamilk has grown steadily in both revenue and profit. Although in 2012, due to the impact of the global economic crisis, most Vietnamese companies faced many difficulties, Vinamilk's revenue still increased by 23%, reaching 27,300 billion VND (about 1.3 billion USD), of which export turnover reached nearly 180 million USD; contributing nearly 3,000 billion VND to the state budget. The average growth rate in the past 5 years, from 2007 to 2012, is 30%. From the beginning of 2013 to now, Vinamilk has achieved an export turnover of more than 92 million USD.

By the end of 2013, Vinamilk plans to achieve an export turnover of over 230 million USD. Vinamilk's main export products currently include: powdered milk, nutritional powder, condensed milk, fresh milk, etc., exported under Vinamilk's own brand.
