(Baonghean.vn) – On the evening of May 7, 2015, the Nghe An Science and Technology Innovation Award Ceremony 2014 was held at the Vinh City Convention Center.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors, authors, groups of authors who won prizes, and a large number of students from colleges and universities in the province.

Nghe An Science and Technology Innovation is an award held annually to honor scientists, researchers, intellectuals and workers who have created valuable research works on science and technology that have been applied in practice in Nghe An province, bringing practical socio-economic effects.

First held in 2001, up to now, after 14 years of launching and organizing, the Science and Technology Award has contributed to arousing and motivating people of all walks of life to constantly work creatively, contributing to promoting the development of Science and Technology and the socio-economic development of the province.
In 2014, scientists, managers, businesses, and research units actively participated in creative labor, research, and application of science and technology in production and life. The creative labor movement was organized more widely in units, agencies, schools, and hospitals. Through that, hundreds of topics, projects, and initiatives were discovered that were researched and effectively applied in practice. Those creative achievements were honored and rewarded by the establishments.
Among the 73 creative works participating in the competition, 12 exceptionally excellent works were honored and awarded by the organizing committee. In particular, the special prize was awarded to the work of Autologous peripheral hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for cancer treatment at Nghe An Oncology Hospital by Dr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Dr. Nguyen Trung Chinh and colleagues - Nghe An Oncology Hospital. The first prize went to the group of authors including Engineer Nguyen Quang Tiep and colleagues - Trung Do Granite Factory - Trung Do Joint Stock Company with the work of Research and design of a technological line for producing diamond charcoal from 3C coal dust to replace 4B kiln charcoal in the brick and tile production process. In addition, there were 4 works that won the second prize, 3 works that were awarded the third prize and 3 works that won the consolation prize.
