Honoring individuals who actively protect wildlife
The Center for Education for Nature (ENV) said that in early 2013, it will organize the awarding of the Wildlife Protection Contribution Award to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to wildlife protection in Vietnam.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung - Director of ENV's Wildlife Protection Program said that the Award is to recognize and honor individuals with positive and outstanding activities in the cause of protecting wildlife that is seriously threatened by illegal hunting and trafficking. ENV and its partners all see that the great efforts of law enforcement agencies, the press and the public in protecting wildlife need to be recognized.
The awardees this time are outstanding individuals from law enforcement forces in wildlife protection, a typical journalist and a citizen with outstanding achievements.
The award is presented in cooperation with the US Embassy in Vietnam and a number of domestic and international conservation organizations including Freeland Foundation, People and Nature Reconciliation (PanNature), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), Traffic Indochina, IUCN Vietnam, and Cuc Phuong National Park Endangered Primate Rescue Center.
The nomination period begins from August 10, 2012 to 5:00 p.m. on October 31, 2012. The award ceremony will be held in Hanoi in early 2013./.
