During the trading session on October 23, the general index of the market increased from the opening to the lunch break, however, the increase was very modest.

Specifically, after the first matching session, the Vn-Index increased slightly by 0.27 points (+0.07%), to 397.27 points. Trading volume reached 1.252 million units, equivalent to a value of 12.85 billion VND. In the continuous matching session, the Vn-Index maintained its upward momentum and the increase continued to slow. By lunchtime, the Vn-Index temporarily stopped at 397.87 points, up slightly by 0.87 points; the VN30Index increased by 0.37 points (+0.08%), reaching 469.76 points.

In this session, the trading volume decreased significantly compared to the previous session, reaching 24,866 million securities, equivalent to a value of VND 350,016 billion; of which more than 10 million securities and VND 175 billion were traded through negotiation. Liquidity decreased mainly due to the cooling of selling pressure.

Thanks to the reduced supply, the number of stocks increasing in price still dominated. The market recorded 104 stocks going up while 74 stocks went down, the rest kept the reference price. Notably, BGM continued to impress when it increased for the 11th consecutive session, accumulating an additional 100 VND, reaching the ceiling of 4,000 VND per share.

Among large-cap stocks, most increased in price but the increase was not strong. Specifically, BVH, CTG, DIG, DPM, DXG, GAS, GMD, HPG, NTL, OGC, PVD, PVF, REE, SSI, VCB increased by 100-700 VND per share. Going against the market trend were DHG, ITA, KBC, PPC, VIC, STB, VNM. FPT, HAG, MBB, MSN, SAM, SJS kept the reference price.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, trading volume decreased by 25%, reaching less than 10 million shares, with a transfer value of 61,528 billion VND, the first session in more than 2 weeks with a trading value of less than 200 billion VND. The increase of Vn30 (032 points, up to 101.64 points) was not enough to help the HNX-Index increase. At 11:30, the HNX-Index stopped at 54.24 points, down 0.11 points (-0.2%).
