The Hanoi Department of Health has just decided to revoke the certificate of eligibility for drug business and the certificate of "Good Distribution Practice" GDP of VN Pharma Joint Stock Company, Hanoi branch.

Because this Company did not ensure to maintain the prescribed drug trading conditions, the Hanoi Department of Health has just decided to revoke the certificate of eligibility for drug trading and the certificate of "Good Distribution Practice" GDP.

Decision No. 3432/QD-SYT clearly states that the drug business establishment of VN Pharma Joint Stock Company, Hanoi branch, with business location at No. 1B, Lane B2, Ton That Tung Street, Khuong Thuong Ward, Dong Da District will not be allowed to trade drugs since its license was revoked.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security had issued decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute the temporary detention order against Nguyen Minh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VN Pharma, for the acts of "smuggling" and "forging papers and documents of agencies and organizations".

The Ministry of Public Security also prosecuted Nguyen Minh Hung's accomplice, Vo Manh Cuong, a representative of a large foreign company in Vietnam.

According to initial information, the Security Investigation Agency, in coordination with a number of professional units and management sectors, discovered that a batch of H-Capita medicine (cancer treatment) stored in the warehouse of VN Pharma imported into Vietnam in April 2014 had suspicious signs.

Before importing the H-Capita batch of drugs, the subjects provided the Ministry of Health with a certificate from a Vietnamese Consulate Counselor in Canada regarding this batch of drugs. Therefore, the Ministry of Health agreed to issue an import license for the above batch of drugs.

After being granted a license, Nguyen Minh Hung and Vu Manh Cuong used a pharmaceutical company in Hong Kong to purchase and import the drugs to Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The value of the batch of drugs was approximately 750,000 USD.

However, when the imported shipment was discovered, seized and sealed by the investigation agency, the Ministry of Public Security's investigation agency initially clarified that the confirmation paper from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Canada was a fake document.

Expanding the investigation, the police discovered that Nguyen Minh Hung and his accomplices had successfully imported and sold many shipments of goods in the same manner as above.

VN Pharma Joint Stock Company was established in 2011 and operates in many fields such as pharmaceutical distribution, clinics, medical hygiene and biochemistry, warehousing and logistics services in the pharmaceutical industry... Currently, the Company has 3 branches in An Giang, Ca Mau, Hanoi and a number of member companies.
